Scott Rigden, M.D., practices medicine in Chandler, Arizona, where he specializes in weight-loss management (Bariatrics), evaluation and treatment of Chronic Fatigue Syndrome (CFS)/Fibromyalgia (FM), and the Functional Medicine approach to chronic illnesses.

After graduating cum laude from Cornell University, he completed his medical studies at St. Louis University Medical School and the Family Practice residency program at Sparrow Hospital in Lansing, Michigan.

Honorariums

The American Society of Bariatric Physicians honored him as one of 15 recipients in its 50-year history with the designation of  Fellow for his excellence in the field of Bariatrics.  Dr. Rigden also earned the honor of being named HealthComm Researcher of the Year for his work on Chronic Fatigue Syndrome / Fibromyalgia.  He has been a pioneer in the emerging field of Functional Medicine, a medical discipline that emphasizes integration of the whole person and nutritional biochemistry.  Dr. Rigden received the Institute of Functional Medicine Outstanding Contribution Award.
